How to set yourself up as a contractor

From initial set-up to on-going management, our specialist contractor accountants can assist you with your company set-up and manage all your on-going returns and administration with one of our competitively priced all-inclusive packages.

Our fees are fixed and you will only pay what has been agreed in advance – there are no hidden charges. Also, unlike some of our competitors, our packages truly are ‘all-inclusive’ so there will be no unexpected additional charges that you need to budget for.

Each package includes an initial face-to-face meeting which allows us to understand your business and your individual needs and assess which option would be right for you. And as we are independent, we can also be flexible and should you have specific requirements – we would be more than happy to tailor a package to suit your needs.

Set-up Packages

Limited company set-up

Initial meeting and company set-up, including a business bank account referral. The one-off fee is £200 + VAT.

This includes the following:

  • An initial face-to-face meeting for us to advise and agree on the best approach for your new limited company – from how much you should pay yourself to what expenses you can claim; we will ensure you are set-up to maximise your take-home pay
  • Company formation, including registration with Companies House and HMRC
  • Referral to our local preferred HSBC branch, where you will be charged a competitive rate for your new business bank account
  • VAT registration, if appropriate for your company
  • PAYE registration, for you and any employees
  • Referral to a qualified Independent Advisor to arrange Professional Indemnity Insurance suited to your individual circumstances
  • Unlimited advice and support to ensure you are set-up and ready to start contracting; from tax planning to how to invoice your clients – we will advise on the best approach to suit your needs

And is available for £200 + VAT (one-off fee).

Ongoing Management Packages

Personalised package

All-inclusive package with personalised service and face-to-face meetings. From £105 + VAT per month.

This package is ideal if you want an end-to-end solution to maximise your tax benefits without the time-consuming administration. This comprehensive solution allows us to manage the administration on your behalf, leaving you free to concentrate on your business.

This package includes the following:

  • An initial face-to-face meeting for us to advise and agree on the best approach for your business
  • Management of your monthly payroll and computation of your PAYE and national insurance payments to HMRC
  • Management of all correspondence and paperwork from HMRC and Companies House
  • Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
  • Complete and file Annual Accounts at Companies House
  • Complete and file an Annual Return at Companies House
  • Complete the HMRC Corporation Tax return and inform HMRC of the company’s profit each year
  • Complete Employer Annual Returns (P35, P14 and P11d)
  • Unlimited guidance and support from a named individual in the team that is dedicated to supporting you and your business.

This all-inclusive package provides you with personalised face-to-face service and costs from £105 + VAT per month.

We can also assist you with any personal tax requirements, such as your annual Personal Tax Return if required (for an additional charge). Please call us to discuss your requirements.

Online package:

All inclusive package with online management via email and telephone. From £90 + VAT per month.

This package is ideal if your business is smaller (turnover below £85,000 per annum), you do not require VAT registration and/or you need less input on a regular basis.

This package includes the following:

  • An initial face-to-face meeting for us to advise and agree on the best approach for your business
  • Management of your monthly payroll and computation of your PAYE and national insurance payments to HMRC
  • Management of all correspondence and paperwork from HMRC and Companies House
  • Complete and file Annual Accounts at Companies House
  • Complete and file an Annual Return at Companies House
  • Complete the HMRC Corporation Tax return and inform HMRC of the company’s profit each year
  • Complete Employer Annual Returns (P35, P14 and P11d)
  • Unlimited guidance and telephonic support from our dedicated accounting team.

This all-inclusive package provides you with online management and costs from £90 + VAT per month.

Should you wish to register your company for VAT, we can manage this registration process and complete and submit quarterly VAT returns for an additional fee.

We can also complete and submit an annual Personal Tax Return for you if required (for an additional charge).

Our packages above are all-inclusive and will allow you to focus on your business while we take care of all the administration on your behalf.
